In a survey Published by Statista Research Department, Jul 22, 2024, almost one third of respondents in Colombia and Brazil thought corruption was one of the country’s main issues. Peru registered the highest level of concern, with 52 percent of respondents claiming to be disturbed about financial or political corruption. Mexico, on the other hand, was the country with the lowest share of respondents who were worried about corruption among those surveyed, at only 17 percent.

the Salvation of compliance
It is interesting to observe, however, how in the midst of this bleak panorama of public corruption in practically the entire Region, something opposite and unexpected emerged and is beginning to gain ground from the private
company: corporate compliance with regulations. One of the organizations that has been studying the development of this concept in Latin America is the IE - Elecnor Observatory on Sustainable Compliance Cultures, a Spanish academic and business space, whose research reveals that although compliance practices are not fully rooted in the culture of Latin American organizations, company leaders are committed to promoting this change in the corporate environment.
A study called “Compliance and Sustainability Practice and Policies in Latin America - Case Studies from Brazil, Chile and Mexico” indicates that there is a high level of fulfillment with regulations regarding compliance and sustainability in the leading companies in these countries.
It adds that the practices and controls do not yet show an integration of the concept of compliance in the corporate cultures of the countries studied. Companies that need external financing or
