The Official Visitors Guide to Kruger Lowveld is out and here are some gems to discover
BUSH PARADISE
Looking for a modern and local shebeen experience? Look no further. Hosted by friendly staff, this is an ideal stop to enjoy a cold beer and music on your way back from the Kruger National Park. Bush Paradise boasts the “best shisanyama every day” which you can enjoy under a palm tree outside. Local DJs are hosted most weekends so expect a party.
INFO Open daily from 10am for breakfast and lunch. Situated in Hazyview on the R536 towards Mkhuhlu and Paul Kruger Gate.
THE GHOST TOUR AT PILGRIM’S REST
A novel way to experience the historic gold mining village of Pilgrim’s Rest where inexplicable occurrences are common and guests are known to have felt a presence from “the other side”. Armed with a hurricane lamp, take a walk among the headstones at the cemetery and after knocking back a tot of sherry for courage, meet the ghosts of the many penniless gold diggers and hear their tragic stories.

KOMATI SPRINGS SCUBA DIVING
Once a mine, this large hole and adjoining cave system subsequently flooded as the natural waters rose, creating excellent conditions for all types of diving, swimming and bird watching. The open water reaches a depth of 55m and the cave system has eight interconnecting levels with parts reaching depths of 186m. There are training grids at five, nine and 30 metres, all anchored by buoy lines. It’s a unique adventure.
INFO Booking is essential. Situated on the R38 in eManzana, 082 650 2294, info@komatisprings.com
