Seaside serenity
Where: Maputo, Mozambique
What: The serenity of this contemporary apartment contrasts with the bustling city outside. The rooms flow seamlessly into one another, creating an airy and light filled space. This is further emphasised by the large windows, which invite the view inside. Unique pieces of art create feature focal points such as the woven Sudanese bed, the engraved Indian panels and a movie projector made from Cuban car parts. These add colour and interest against the stark and neutral colour palette. The kitchen’s rear wall and the living room’s fireplace, both clad in rough earthen brick, add warmth to the otherwise minimalist look of the space. Outside, the inviting lap pool framed in a cantilever deck with outstretched sea views, reminds you where you are.
