Makalali Private Game Reserve, celebrated its 20 year anniversary recently, and fittingly, not long afterwards, received Government’s rubber-stamp approval as a declared Nature Reserve with protected status through legislation. This is good news for the 26 000ha conservancy and the Greater Makalali Land and Wildlife Trust, which is the caretaker of the land and all the wildlife on it.
