                  Overview of Clamping Elements
Comparison of Clamping Elements
Which clamping element is suitable for you?
The main task of a clamping system is to create a link between tool and spindle regardless whether it is a shank-type tool or a tool with bore. It has to be made sure that the necessary torque can be transmitted and that during operation the emerging longitudinal and lateral forces can be absorbed. In addition, the clamping element must create a perfectly aligned link to the tool as well as to the motor spindle. The LEUCO range of clamping elements covers applications with low demands as well as high-end applications.
Clamping Elements For CNC Technology at LEUCO
Draw-In Collet Chuck
- Operating Principle: The collet chuck (1) is cone-shaped on the outside and has a cylindrical bore where tools are inserted. The collet chuck is
radially slotted. The round head screw (2) clamps the collet chuck in the
drawn-in collet chuck (3); thus the tool is fixed.
- Concentric Accuracy: 0.02 to 0.06mm
- Max. RPM: 18,000 min (24,000 min)
- Handling: Simple handling in cost-effective tool holders by means of hook wrenches.
- Sense of rotation right / Left : Ri/Le suitable (Attention with large diameter and heavy tools)
- Clamping errors: Operating error possible when building up the clamping force. User determines the torque. - Smooth Running, Cutting Quality,Edge Life: Good
- Recommended application area: Low demand applications (e.g drill bits, Z1-shank-type cutters). Cost effective and flexible clamping element.
Hydro Clamping Chuck ps-System
- Operating Principle: The closed hydraulic system allows highest clamping forces. By means of an allen wrench the liquid (1) is squeezed and compre-
sses the cylindrical bore (2). This creates high clamping forces which fix
the tools safely.
- Concentric Accuracy: < 0.006 mm
- Max. RPM: 30,000 min
- Handling: Very simple handling, impressurement without effort by means of hexagonal allen wrench. - Sense of rotation right / Left : Ri/Le to be used without problems.
- Clamping errors: Operating error improbable when building up the clamping force.
- Smooth Running, Cutting Quality,Edge Life: Excellent
- Recommended application area: High demand applications . User friendly clamping element.
Power shrink-Fit Chuck Tribos
- Concentric Accuracy: < 0.003mm
- Max. RPM: 40,000 min
- Handling:Simple handling by means of hydraulic press.
- Sense of rotation Right / Left : Ri/Le to be used without problems.
- Clamping errors: No operating error when building up the clamping force
- Smooth Running, Cutting Quality,Edge Life: Excellent
- Recommended application area: High demand applications. Very slim design.
