shell shall, beneath his inspired, fantast will, become the singing lyre that shall enthral and appease, with its dulcet euphonies, a mad Apollo of the stolen kine. Thus drowsy beneath his creative spell, the tortoise shell into dreamy lyre he shall impel.
Hermes, as if a Gypsy God shall ever wander away from the late Stoic pathways, for the dramatic Stoic exegesis his spirit shall weigh down. For no longer shall Hermes roam the mischievous roads towards his genuine self. Abducted, he shall no longer meander as mytho-poetic Hermes of the lyrical ways, but as Hermes of the logical ways. Being all-too-weary to fight or complain, Hermes, too, shall be reworded into Philo’s Word- λόγος, until not a trace shall exist of his ambivalent, mytho-poetic natural days, beneath the logo-centric ways, for he, too, shall be assimilated into the Old Testament’s Λόγος of the Divine Creation Myth, as mediator between a transcendental God and His creation. Just as his authentic mytho-poetic flame is extinguished, Hermes of the Stoic λόγος shall, too, in time, extinguish the genuine mythic nature of Yahweh’s spontaneous, dynamic Verb.
Mytho-poetic Yahweh, however, is no Hermes, and never shall Hermes behold the glory of Yahweh, who effortlessly wills the cosmos, luminaries, and all creatures into being by His dynamic Word, only to thereafter witness its exalted beautifulness and goodness. Yet Yahweh’s all-powerful Verb can admit the irrational in the likeness of Hermes’ mischievous ways. Not only can Yahweh’s almighty Word conceivably create munificent
