that which temporarily and falsely expands, faces and flesh, to their maximally radiant absolute glow, devoid of the Spirit’s Wise Words. How so very low our savage decadence and post-modern descent, as we cram and fill, at best, all things with banalities and superficialities, and reality shows, all things with emptiness, nothingness and the void, and pay to confess, afraid to defend non-violently a worthy idea or thought, for ideology has cast a dangerous spell in Messrs. Althusser and Berlin’s discourse, and rightly so after the Holocaust, while a great part of the world starves itself to death, and succumbs barefoot to labour in indecent factories and sweat shops for a dollar a day, undergoing tyrannies and oppression of every form and kind in the most abject of modern miseries.
This surgical, take-out, rush-and-run humanism, no longer running with gods or God’s Word, negates, mocks, trivializes the spiritual ascent. Consumed by consumerism, consumed by neo-liberalism and usury’s ascent to its neo-Gods, the banking, financing, real estate and insurance institution dominates our consciousness with its materialist modus operandi, infiltrating credit cards and putrid rewards as the new almighty discourse, proclaiming worldly safety and salvation, as if Protagoras’ man were the measure of all things that are and are not.17 Yet what form of salvation is this? If not plastic all too plastic! If not a mere mirage in the deserts of being! For until it is empirically proven our souls or spirits do not exist, and that we
