Genesis’ priestly scribes do not clarify; how could they? No one has. All we learn is that uncanny Yahweh is a jealous Deity, and if so, so we must be. What a dreary mess! For why have not our passions been conquered by philosophies of so wondrous minds, so devoted to humanity all their lives, and how dare we turn away our gazes from these ancient texts replete with glorious wisdom, our parachutes if we are to survive our landing in this idiotic, frazzled, and all too dreadful reality, if we are not to in stupor dwell?
Mythically, Yahweh’s Verb, ever omnipotent, casts rational and irrational, perfect and imperfect shades, and it zigzags, nonetheless, towards theodicy’s angst, taking its toll as it protests against Heaven’s munificent scroll. See all that was
