Richie Porte
THE TASMANIAN WONDER CHILD
RICHIE PORTE COMES from Launceston Tasma- nia He started his sporting career with tri- athlon before deciding to give his everything to road racing The success was immediate He went professional and in only his first year after three days in in in the leader’s pink jersey in in in the the Giro d’Italia he he he ended up by winning the the white youth jersey – some achievement!
He became a a a a a part of Team Sky and con- tributed to to their finest victories he he was part of both the the 2012 and 2013 teams that won the the Tour de France And even if he’s occasionally known as as “Super Domestique” he has shown that he he can deliver – – given the chance – – some-
thing he proved with his victories in in Paris-Nice 2015 2015 and Volta a a a a a a Catalunya 2015 2015 Richie lives like many of the the other cyclists in in Team Team Sky Sky in in Monaco close to Team Team Sky’s house where they can have a a a a a massage physi- otherapy or just service their bikes I’m meeting Richie in in the flat where he’s lived for the last four years But he’s rarely there due to his extensive travelling nor has he he he done much cooking there either – until now Since his partner moved in in he’s become much more interested in in in cooking and has even learnt to use the oven!
One thing I just had to to make together with VISITING RICHIE PORTE
