rare Bristol glaze moulded stoneware flask, fluted
shoulders. Impressed M. FIELD/ Wine & Spirit
Merchant/ ARTICHOKE INN/ MAIDSTONE to
front, rouletted pellet pattern around. Base
impressed LONDON POTTERY/ J STIFF/
LAMBETH. A previously unrecorded Kent flask
dug in Scotland last year. Couple of insignificant
base edge flakes & minor body discolouration.

Stephen Green made flask modelled
as a church door, reffered to as
a Gothic arch. Impressed W.
COTTAGE WORSHIP ST to rear.
According to the 1851 directory
William D Cottage was proprietor
of the Duke of Northumberland at
64 Worship Street. Green/ Princes
St/ Lambeth unusually be bossed,
raised, to underside. Chip to front.

611. HAYNES HOLBORN PUB NAMED SPIRIT
FLASK. 5.75ins. Diminutive salt glaze spirit
flask, recessed shoulder lobes, impressed
HAYNES/ GEORGE & BLUE BOAR/ HOLBORN
to front. Charles Haynes was proprietor
of the George & Blue Boar at 270 High
Holborn from 1851 to 1861. By 1864 the
pub was razed to the ground. Small lip
chip professionally repaired, otherwise
excellent condition. A really tactile little
flask, very rare! 8.5/10. NR. £120-£150+

(?), on the Victoria side
inscribed July 8th/ 1839. High
point wear to the Duchess nose
otherwise excellent condition.
Significant rarity with the added
inscriptions. Ex Dr Dudley
