p 119) 6.25ins tall. Green top, lower off white glaze, raised horseshoe to shoulder. Black transfer CHARLES MACKINLAY/ & CO/ DISTILLERS/ LEITH, SCOTLAND one side, MACKINLAY’S/ V.O.B./ SCOTCH WHISKY to other. Detailed Scotts Monument pict. across front below pouring
lip. Buchan base mark. A rare jug.

    157. TUNSTALL BREWERY LARGE JUG. 8.25ins tall, white glaze. A very highly detailed, strong black transfer all round, and inside the rim too. Large images of
the brewery premises, emblazoned both side, hops & vines below
 rim. JOHNSONS/ XXX/ TUNSTALL BREWERY. Coat
of arms Elsmore & Forster to base. Top & bottom edge
crazing & small faint side lip hairline plus couple of R side body flakes. Still
an exceptionally rare and important offering - these
jugs just do not turn up very often (8/10) £800-900+
