Golf is singled out in the Income Tax Act as being excluded, and over the past 45 years this has grown into a major inequity in our tax code and competitive disadvantage to Canada’s golf industry.
NAGA came together in 2011 to leverage industry participants across the country and the members of the organizations that make up the coalition to engage in grassroots advocacy. This included one-on- one meetings with Parliamentarians in their home ridings across the
country, to spread the message that this is no longer a tolerable tax disadvantage for the golf industry, which is made up primarily of small and medium sized businesses operating in very challenging and competitive environments.
