Happy staff, happy members, and happy guests. How does that sound? Boost your team’s morale by investing into their health and wellness.
Investing in your team’s health and wellness has been proven to increase employee and member satisfaction and it shows your team that you care. It will cost less than $20 per staff member a week and I am excited to share with you how we accomplished this.
In 2022, our recruitment fell short by 20% and we knew we could not repeat this in 2023 so we brainstormed some ideas and decided on a wellness incentive for our employees.
The program included $50 monthly for part-time staff and $100 monthly for full-time staff. All the staff had to do was bring receipts in anytime during a month and we would add the benefit to their next pay. Students were able to request to us the money for school and we would pay them out at the end of their contract.
For a cost of less then 50 cents a month/hour, per staff member taking advantage of the program, we boosted our employee satisfaction by 10% from 2022, and our member satisfaction went up by 8%. With this investment of just over $10,000 this initiative helped secure a full staff for 2023.
Some of the diverse ways employees used their wellness funds were for fitness classes to hunting gear, a peloton bike, hockey equipment, hiking boots, and flowers for gardening.
Our commitment to employee well-being not only resonated in surveys, but also translated into a 98% intention among seasonal staff to return in 2024 and even a 98% likelihood to recommend us to family and friends.
A wellness program is more than an investment, it is a winning strategy that enhances both employee and member satisfaction, and helped us become an employer of choice in our area.
