Golf course security is not simple. There are multiple zones that have unique security needs, from the golf course property, to the golf carts, storage sheds, pro shop, clubhouse and, increasingly, accommodations, pools, spas, event halls, and other amenities. This requires the combined security measures of a retail shop, bar/ restaurant, and property management company!
Unfortunately, the risks are increasing as well. In the past year, there have been dozens of significant thefts at golf courses across Canada. As golf equipment from power carts to clubs increase in value, some of these crimes have cost owners and operators more than $100,000.
While golf courses face many security risks, they can be summarized into three main categories: internal theft, external theft and health and safety risks. Let’s look at the common risks associated with golf course ownership and why you should consider upgrading your security system to a cloud video surveillance solution that offers video alarms. The right security system can reduce your costs, recoup revenue, and keep your employees and patrons safe.
GOLF COURSE SECURITY ZONES
Overall, the security needs of golf courses can be summarized as follows: lower the risk of injuries and accidents, better protect against trespassers and vandals, and stop internal and external theft. How this is accomplished varies from one area to another.
