RNEatPioOnRalTlyHroIGunHdLsIGplHayTeSd in August remained relatively stable, showing a marginal increase of 1.5% compared to the previous year. This brings the National YTD rounds to a 2.8% increase over 2022 and still some 22% higher than pre-covid levels.
Regionally YTD rounds are up in the western half of the country and down in the east. With the start of YTD weather closure reporting, we can see that Québec has averaged 18 weather-related closures since May 1 and Atlantic has seen 16. In stark contrast, British Columbia averaged only 3 weather closure days. These differences are visibly reflected in their rounds results with British Columbia showing an increase of approximately 8%, while Quebec and the Atlantic region experienced a decline of 5%. While not solely attributable to weather, it is certainly a contributing factor.
