  What is the oldest surviving golf course in
Canada?
Disapproving looks upon on their faces, voices are raised, beer glasses are slammed down ... ah, the start of a good ol’ 19th hole “discussion” amongst die hard golfers. So, for today’s hot topic question, what is the oldest surviving golf course on the original property in Canada?
Immediately, answers are yelled out from across the clubhouse bar, “Isn’t it Brantford Golf & Country Club?”; “No, The Toronto Golf Club is older”; “You are both wrong ... it is Royal Quebec Golf Club”; and finally from the back, “Nope, come on, you are all wrong ... it is definitely Royal Montreal Golf Club!”
Some very good responses, but all these guesses are incorrect! Each of these historic Canadian golf clubs actually relocated to a new location a few years AFTER they were created. Royal Montreal, which is recognized as the oldest club in North America, was founded in 1873 but relocated to a new location in 1896. Royal Quebec Golf Club was founded soon thereafter but also did not settle on their final location until 1922. The Toronto Golf
