Younger Awards: Canadian Golf Executive of the Year

The Younger Awards presented by ScoreGolf are handed out annually by journalist Rick Young and cover everything from the golf business story of the year, golf product of the year, emerging Canadian company of the year, Canadian golf executive of the year and more.
This year, our very own CEO had the distinction of being a recipient. On his selection of Jeff Calderwood as the recipient of Canadian Golf Executive of the Year Award, Rick notes: “Leadership can be difficult to quantify, but in the case of Jeff Calderwood, he leads by example.
Despite the setback of Finance Minister Joe Flaherty turning down the opportunity to bring tax fairness to the Canadian golf industry earlier this year and the looming uncertainty of what a new Liberal government might mean, the CEO of the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada continues to work extraordinarily hard on behalf of the game in this country.
Jeff has maintained a high profile with almost every politician in Ottawa as the front man in the National Allied Golf Associations’ bid to rid the game of 40-plus years of choking tax legislation while continuing to further the NGCOA Canada’s profile. This includes a new deal consummated this year with Golf DataTech for Retail Benchmark Reports in Canada, the introduction of GolfSocial and further cooperation with other golf industry stakeholders to better market the game in Canada.”
