Golfstream Travel is working with Chuck Thibeault, Executive Director of the Central Tourism region of Ontario to change that reality.
Golfstream is now focusing on spreading the word! In July, Chuck Thibeault and Golfstream Travel organized a FAM (familiarization) Tour for a group of golf journalists from around the world to experience three unique tourism regions of Central Ontario (Bay of Quinte, Bruce Grey Simcoe and Central Counties). It is the first time three major regions in Canada’s heartland teamed with golf club owners, hotel operators, and provincial government officials to show off a tiny portion of Canada’s golfing riches.
The tour hopscotched across the province, beginning in Markham, just north of Toronto, and in all, participants played seven of the finest courses in the province: Angus Glen (Markham); Royal Ashburn (Durham Region), Bay of Quinte Golf Club, and Black Bear Ridge (Belleville), Briars Resort (Jacksons Point), Lora Bay (Thornbury, near Collingwood), and Caledon Golf Club (Caledon), and Wooden Sticks (Uxbridge).
