Seven years ago, my team and I discussed running a golf tourna- ment and I said I wanted the best one in the country! And, I wanted to get some of the greatest athletes to come!
Well, the Joe Carter Celebrity Golf Classic has now celebrated six years of events that just keep getting bigger and better, establishing itself as Canada’s premier celebrity golf tournament. It’s a fantastic turnout for both fans and amateur golfers who get to mingle and play amongst celebrities, which speak to the level of fun and quality of the events.
This year, different worlds of sports and entertainment collided as A-listers from Wayne Gretzky, Dan Marino, Emmitt Smith, Grant Fuhr, Snoop Dogg, and many more gathered in support of education and development of Canadian youth through the Children’s Aid Foundation.
This event is more than just a golf tournament; it has grown to be a 48-hour experience and this year it included:
• Celebrity Skins Match: I chal-
lenged my comrades to compete for $25,000 in skins on Day One of the event.
• Exclusive Gifting Lounge: Celebrities then proceeded to the Shangri-la Hotel Toronto to attend an exclusive gifting lounge for some serious brand name swag from our long list of sponsors. Can you imagine 6’7’’ Ed “To Tall” Jones getting custom fitted for dress shirts from Got Style Inc.?
• VIP Reception: The evening rounded up celebrities, sponsors, and guests at the VIP Reception in the Rogers Centre to watch the Toronto Blue Jays game.

• Celebrity Golf Tournament: Day Two was an early morning at Eagles Nest Golf Course in Maple, ON for the 6th Annual Joe Carter Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament. Spirits were high and golfers ready to tee off after Nike and Canada Goose fitted all golfers with new drivers and gear. Each hole on the course had its own activities including a chance to win two first class tickets to a dream destination!
• The After Party: After an intense golf game, influencers hit the Shangri-la Hotel Toronto for the most pursued after-party to attend. It’s the kind of party that’s talked about for months, and reviewed as the top party to be seen at. The red carpet was jammed with media looking to
capture a picture and interview Dan Marino, Emmitt Smith and, me, as the host, and the evening’s entertainer Snoop Dogg!
Year after year the Joe Carter Classic brings celebrities that want to collectively give back through the game they feel so passionate about. We’re proud to produce one of the best events and tournaments in Canada that is the perfect mix of golf, entertainment, and social conscience which has now helped to raise over $1.5 million so far!
