Manager, Scott Parker, and their Board of Directors made a decision which continues to have a positive impact on their bottom line.
“At that point, it became a decision as to how we could remain an all-season sports facility when we don’t have curling in the winter,” noted Parker. “We have tried cross country skiing and there was no way to pay our staff
or generate sustainable revenue during the winter months.”
GOLF SIMULATOR INVESTMENT
In the fall of 2018, Rossmere entered the golf simulator marketplace by installing two units into the now unused curling space on a construction budget of $40,000. To determine if this would be feasible and profitable, they developed
programming including member leagues, lessons and club fittings and it proved to be a massive success. In a very short timeframe, it became evident that additional space, more simulators, and enhanced member services were required. Based on the initial success and interest from their membership and community, expansion plans were put in place.
