Brent Probasco
Certified Public Accountant Brent Probasco has joined NRMC as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As a member of the senior leadership team, Probasco’s responsibilities include strategically overseeing the hospital’s financial performance. He will oversee accounting and budgeting, revenue cycle, supply chain, managed care contracting, investments, reimbursements, and more. Interestingly, in Probasco’s first healthcare position, he served as Controller at NRMC from 1999 to 2005.
For the past 15 years, Probasco has served as the CFO for Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Among his many accomplishments there, he ensured the hospital reached its budgeted goals, increased cash reserves, and reduced interest expenses. Formerly, he also served as CFO of Hartselle Medical Center in Alabama and as an Assistant CFO at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, Louisiana.
A graduate of Northwestern State University in Accounting, Probasco began his accounting career with Cole, Evans & Peterson CPAs in Shreveport before entering the healthcare field. He is a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours in Iraq.
Dr. Keith Ashby
NRMC has opened its newest physician practice, NRMC Medicine Associates and welcomes internist, Dr. Keith Meredith Ashby to NRMC. Dr. Ashby has a particular interest in helping patients with chronic and often complex health concerns, including those with multiple diseases or health issues. His goal is to prevent acute illnesses and complications for these patients and help them stay as healthy as possible.
Dr. Ashby has an extensive background as a hospitalist and working with patients in Intensive Care Units. He is especially attuned to the general medicine needs of those with cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and other conditions as well as those with more routine primary care needs such as colds, flus, and digestive issues.

LaCour Joins Marketing Team
Blaise LaCour, a lifelong resident of Natchitoches, has joined NRMC and will play an instrumental role in community outreach, internal and external communications, and oversee all aspects of social media.
LaCour holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University’s Manship School of Mass Communication/Journalism.
LaCour is a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Marketing Chairwoman for the Service League of Natchitoches, and a board member for APHN. She also volunteers with the Creole Heritage Center at Northwestern State University.
Partnership With
Compass Health
Committed to providing outstanding mental health services to north-central Louisiana, NRMC has created a partnership with Compass Health, a statewide integrated behavioral health organization. As part of this collaboration, Compass Health
will assume management and day-to-day operational oversight of NRMC’s inpatient behavioral health unit, Insights, and its day treatment program, Reflections.

Pulmonology Services
Expand at NRMC
NRMC is expanding its pulmonology services through
a collaboration with Ochsner
LSU Health System of North Louisiana. Ochsner LSU Health pulmonologists will provide care at NRMC Pulmonology Associates in the NRMC Multispecialty
Clinic, increasing availability
of pulmonary care to the Natchitoches area. Additionally, Ochsner LSU Health critical care medicine physicians will be available to provide telemedicine services for patients in the NRMC intensive care unit (ICU), working in conjunction with NRMC’s hospitalists and medical staff.
