 Dear Nana,
You have always been a little extra strict with me, and it took me a while to understand that it is all from a place of love. You have been a role model for all of us and we are proud to be your grandchildren.
I am in awe every time you share how you started your business just around the time you were starting to grow your family. Your stories about your struggles, efforts and hard work will never fail to inspire and push me to excel in life. I am sad and yet happy that I got to work under your guidance in some capacity with WINDFIT. Sad because I did not put
my heart and soul into it and maybe even disappointed you. Happy because I got to learn a lot about my own self and working style.
I hope to integrate all the wisdom you imparted to me in that time, in my work now - be it about being punctual, or financially accountable and even strategising to market products in the right way. I hope to make you proud.
Moving to your role in this family. Grandparents are always like the roots of any family tree. I must truthfully say, it scared and shattered me when Nani passed away because I felt like the roots
were weakening. However, you have ALWAYS tried
to strike such an incredible balance in this family and held it together to the best of your abilities.
We are all close as a result
of the family values you and Nani cultivated in us over
the years and I hope your family legacy stays on for generations to come. My favourite memories with you involve food, without a doubt! It is not only rare but almost never that a man, especially from your generation, would spend time preparing delicious food in the kitchen. I not only respect you for that but also thoroughly enjoy every meal you have cooked for us with love. Hot dal, undhiyo, Bhel, Ghega, Mat ni daal, Pudina chutney and the list can go on.
I would like to end by wishing you Abundance of GOOD HEALTH and HAPPINESS. Here’s to many more years of eating your hand-cooked meals and receiving scoldings and blessings from you.
Khyati
