THE FOUNDATION FOR MANATEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
HISTORY
In 1978, a dedicated group of concerned community leaders united around a common goal: to make certain that the first college of the Manatee and Sarasota region could meet the daunting challenges of higher education in the 21st century.
Their imagination and vision created a foundation that would make a great college better, a foundation that would provide deserving students with an opportunity to earn a college education through scholarships, and a foundation that would raise funds to better equip classrooms and energize faculty development. The founders visualized a foundation contributing to the cultural and economic heritage
of the greater community and empowering the College through financial flexibility.
Thanks to the support and generosity of individuals, organizations, and businesses that share this communal vision, the Foundation’s assets have grown to more than $33 million through contributions of cash, appreciated securities, and real and personal property.
The Foundation for Manatee Community College is dedicated to securing and managing resources to enhance the educational opportunities for the students and faculty of Manatee Community College.
The Foundation’s vision is to become the leading provider of scholarships, technology innovation funds, faculty enhancements, and program support for the College and its students.
