                     Basileus Corner                   Happy New Year! Although it is
                  Soror Wilma J. Ruffin
                                                       almost February, this is our first issue
                                                       of â€œTHE EGO Ivy Informerâ€ for

                                                       2016. I extend my heartfelt thanks to

                                                       Soror Latoyia Clemons and the

                                                       newsletter committee/team for their
                                                       outstanding production of â€œTHE EGO
                                                       Ivy Informerâ€ during 2015 and look

                                                       forward to the 2016 issues. This issue

is extraordinary, as other issues have been. I encourage you to view, review and reflect on our continuous

accomplishments and contributions to our community. They are very eloquently presented in this

newsletter. As Alpha Kappa Alpha, women we should be proud of our accomplishments and
contributions to our community. Congratulations! Thanks â€œTHE EGO Ivy Informerâ€ Team for

highlighting our service.
        Although we are busy living up to our Alpha Kappa Alpha promise to render â€œService to All

Mankindâ€, I am asking each of you to take care of my sorors, â€œyouâ€. As many of you often remind me
to do as well. I promise that I will do a better job of doing the same, taking care of your soror, â€œmeâ€.

The following â€œHabits of the Heartâ€ were compiled by Dr. Wright L. Lassiter, Jr., author, scholar

and leader, who was the speaker for the 2016 MLK Unity Breakfast. He suggests that each of us ask

these questions at the end of each day and perhaps by asking these questions we could generate for

ourselves a well-balanced life and livelihood.
