Christopher Andrew Armstrong was born and raised in Tennes- see, but coasting through his thirties in Los Angeles. His portfolio includes bylines writing about fashion shows, interviews with DJs and musicians, progress and growth within the cannabis indus- try, and why everyone should visit Hawaii. He’s also ghostwritten books about romance and long lost love. For the cover story of Flaunt’s The Dawn Chorus issue, he profiled Stranger Things and Concrete Cowboy star Caleb McLaughlin. During the beginning months of quarantine 2020, Christopher finished the first draft of his long anticipated debut novel The Roads We Never Travelled and has spent many subsequent nights editing it for potential print. Christopher wrote the cover story on Paul Bettany on page 100. How does your garden grow? Metaphorically, my garden is sprouting the fruits from seeds I planted in 2018. A WIP novel which finally grad- uated from the daunting first draft stage. I am also planting seeds with tennis lessons in hopes of making a late career run at the Association
of Tennis Professionals. Quarantine is over which means anything can happen, right?
In plain speech, my garden is growing sweet tomatoes and red bell
peppers.
Derek Milton is a writer and director based out of Los Angeles, CA. His work ranges from commercials to narratives to tutorial videos. Some recent work includes Beyoncé’s Black is King, the documentary Getting a Grammy, and “Derek’s Spooky Song” by musician Mike Katz. Derek photographed Storm Reid on page 188.
How does your garden grow? Slow, in various directions, with lots of Rosemary.
Kurt Iswarienko is a photographer based in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Ohio and raised in Argentina and Mexico in the 1980’s, Kurt made his way into photography after working as a movie lighting technician in Los Angeles just before the dawning of the digital age. Having learned to shoot on film, and drawing from his experience learning to light and direct actors in the film business, Kurt’s photographic style has always been marked by a narrative cinematic sensitivity. Kurt photographed Rudy Pankow on page 90.
