RULES FOR READING.
10. Every emphatical word must be marked with a  rce corresponding with the importance of the subject.
11. At the beginning of the subject, the pitch of the voice should be low, but audible. To this rule there are some exceptions in poetry, and even in prose.
12. At the commencement of a new paragraph, division, or subdivision, of a discourse, the voice may be lowered, and allowed gradually to swell.
13. In reading or discoursing on sacred, or religious subĀ­ jects, let gravity and solemnity be observed.
