1. THE incarnation of our Divine Redeemer in the womb of his Virgin Mother, was e ected by the power of the Holy Ghost. In what year of the world the Saviour was born cannot now be exactly determined; but the most probable opinion is, that his nativity should be placed  ur years beyond our present computation. This, however, is certain, that in the reign of the emperor Augustus, and of Herod the Great, king of Judea, "the Word was made  esh, and dwelt amongst us."
