II. THE KING FROM WHOM THE REDEEMER DESCENDED
1. DAvrn Is AccEPTED As KING BY THE WHOLE NATION Together with his band of faithful soldiers and com-
panions, David went to Hebron, where he was accepted as the king of the tribe of Jud . He ruled over the tribe of Juda for seven and a half years before the rest of the nation accepted him as their king.
The reason the Israelites would not accept David was because Saul had a son living, and Abner, Saul's general, tried to · ke him king. Civil war. Skirmish afte skirmis was fought. Finally, son was slain. T e minds of the people then tu ed to David. Delegates from the twelve tribes were sent to him and he was anointed king of the whole nation at Hebron.
