Although Roboam's kingdom consisted of only two tribes, it was stronger than that of Jeroboam. It was small and was easily defended. A spirit of unity existed in the tribe of Juda. The kings were of the family of David and Solomon and ey shared their reputation. The Temple was in their kingdom and the people sacri ced on one altar according to the law.
