Young Tobias found a strange young man in the city and asked him to go along with him as his guide. The young man consented and they set out on the

Ou the way they came to a river. Tobias went to
wash his feet, and a large sh came up to devour him. His companion told him to catch the sh by the gills and draw it ashore. He then ordered him to cut out the heart, the gall, and the liver, and t9 save them for medicine. When Tobias asked his guide what they were good for, the guide told him that the gall was good for anointing and curing eyes.
Tobias was led by his guide to a kinsman, whose daughter, Sara, he married. Sara's father gave her, as a wedding present, one-half of his property, with the promise of the rest after his death. The wedding feast lasted two weeks. During the feast Tobias'

of thy life have God in thy mind, and take heed never to consent to sin. Give alms. Do not turn away thy face from any poor person. If thou have much, give much. If thou have little, give the little cheerfully, for alms deliver from sin and from death. Never allow pride to reign in thy mind or in thy words. Never do to another what thou wouldst not have done to thee. Seek counsel always of a wise man. Bless God at all times and desire Him to direct thy ways.''
