326 CHRIST PREPARES TO DEEM THE WO D
THE VISITATION
revealed to Elizabeth that Mary was the Mother of God, and she cried out with a loud voice, saying, ''Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of t y womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me7 Blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.''
When Mary heard these words, the joy in her heart knew no bounds, and there burst from her lips the Canticle the M nificat, a prayer of praise and thanks giving to the Lord. She said:
