chief priests have delivered Thee up to me; what hast Thou done?" Jesus answered, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, My servants would certainly fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews." Pilate therefore said to Him, "Art Thou a King?" Jesus answered, "Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this cause I came into the world) that I should give testi mony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is the truth?'' Then, rising up, he left the room and went out once more to the crowd.
Standing on the balcony overlooking the square, Pilate said to the chief priests, "I nd no cause to con demn this man.'' A roar of anger went up from the crowd. A voice was heard above the din, saying, ''He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.''
When Pilate heard them mention Galilee, he asked if Jesus were from Galilee. When he heard that He was, he thought of a plan whereby the whole a air might be settled without any interference on his part. Herod Antipas, who had put John the Baptist to death, was in Jerusalem, and he was the ruler of Galilee. So Pilate sent Jesus to Herod.
When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad. He had heard the story of the wonder£ul things Jesus had done in Galilee, and ever since the death of John the Baptist he had been most anxious to see Him, in order to assure himself that Jesus was not John the Baptist
