WINTER BOY
The sky is gray, Ground white, Any sense of luminosity Is nowhere is sight. The roads icy, Faces bleak, Snow is falling
On mountain peaks.
A dubious boy
Quite lean and small, Skipped down the road and Seemed like and oddball. Through the dreary skies And doubtful faces everywhere, This boy wondered “Where is the joy?” And stared. Faces and objects
Were as gloomy as the snow.
The cold struck like a punch, But the boy was all aglow.
He had a grin
From ear to ear
‘Cause he saw the good
That everyone thought disappeared.
