“Follow me.” The Supreme Being beckons the person through a haze.
As the individual follows, s/he discovers him/herself in a long hallway, with two deep-mahogany, magnificently large doors on opposite sides, one on the left, the other on the right.
As the Supreme Being directs the person to the door on the left, it opens to a huge banquet hall filled with people. The delightful aroma of warm, rich food and cool drink fills the air. Yet, the room resonates with a deafening silence.
As the bystander looks on, s/he observes that every- one’s arms are encased, and they are unable to bend them to eat or drink. They can only look, and as they do so, their tears flow.
Then, the Supreme Being takes the bystander to the banquet hall on the right, which is also filled with deli- cious food and drink, only in this room, everyone is en- gaged in lively conversation. Although the people’s arms are encased and they cannot eat, they are feeding each other, supporting and validating their neighbor with loving-kindness.
