determine how much and how often they commit to the learning process.
Adaptation and Inroads In Education
Despite the pitfalls of transitioning into a strictly online learning forum, there are some meaningful advantages to that type of education. Generation Alpha was born into it, and numerous ten-year-olds are quite skilled in Internet technology and the use of smart devices and tablets, as is Generation Z—even more than their parents. Therefore, potential technical difficulties will not faze them.
Older and continuing-education students will benefit from distance learning in significant ways:
Schedule Flexibility— Upper-level students can ac- cess online courses at any time. Scheduling flexibility is essential for people with families and other commitments and helps to orient, structure, and give them time to ab- sorb the information at their own pace.
Diverse Coursework—One of the great advantages of remote learning is the potential for educators to devel- op classes that have not been invented yet. The process of creating new courses will give rise to new educational in- novations and stimulate communication.
Sharing Notes and Ideas—Students enjoy the im- mediacy of communication with colleagues at the click of a mouse, attach files, photos, graphs, and other helpful tools for on-the-spot learning.
Global Interaction—One of the most exciting aspects of the ‘virtual classroom’ is students’ ability to reach out to each other across the globe and share innovations, learn- ing techniques, and strategies for acquiring and imparting knowledge.
