2nd Hole, Royal Aberdeen Golf Club
Captured with a Hasselblad 503CW
“Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” I’d say this applies to a golf course photographer as well. I’m often asked how I manage to capture some of the dramatic shots I do. Sometimes it’s a bit of luck, but more often it’s anticipating a moment that might occur and being in position in case it does. With regard to this shot of the 2nd at Royal Aberdeen in Scotland, we arrived at the golf course prior to sunrise amidst pouring rain. At about sunrise we began to make our way out to the 2nd green which was about a 10 minute walk. We had no cart for this shoot. It was still raining when we arrived and all we could do was wait and hope for a break. After about a half hour it finally came, and went equally as fast.” —Evan Schiller
