all the the windows I take a a a a a a a a a deep breath preparing for the the morning ahead and what will I’m sure be a a a a a a a a a a a a a a really busy day day day Today is is a a a a a a a a a a a a Saturday morning at at at 8am and this community college campus is is buzzing with an an an energy that’s unexpected at at a a a a a a a college bright and early on a a a a a a weekend morning – but it’s time for the 2016 Desert Code Camp to to get underway I am am am amazed at at how many people stop at at our sponsor table to to tell us how impressed they are with the the the number of speakers Neudesic has on the the the the schedule Ah there’s that swell of of pride pride Not the the the kind of of pride pride you you have as a a a a a a a parent watching your child (not that that I I know what that’s like because I’m kid-less) but pride in in the the the colleagues the the the teams and the the the bright amazing people that that I work with that that that are all a a a a a a a a a a a part of this community And that’s a a a a a a a a little bit about why being in in the role of of of Director of of of Professional Development (DPD) is really cool “MYDAYSREVOLVEAROUNDBEING ANAGENTANDANADVOCATEFOR OUR CONSULTANTS ”
First and and foremost my days revolve around being an an an an an agent and and an an an an an advocate for our consultants Beyond just having 1:1 meetings with each
of our team members every month completing annual reviews and helping solve/point people in in in in in the the right direction regarding their questions about TBS/payroll/PTO/bene ts/ expenses it’s to to understand what drives them them them how how to to to inspire them them them and how how to to help them them them them achieve the the the the the the goals that they want for themselves It’s helping them them get exposure or or or or recognition for the the the the work they do in in in a a a a a a a way that’s meaningful to them Sometimes it’s also about hearing the the challenges encouraging solutions providing alternative points of view and giving advice “ILIKETOTHINKOFMYSELFASA BIT OF OF A A A A A MATCH-MAKER ”
Another major part of my day and role is working in in collaboration with a a a day in the life of a a a DPD the the the rest of the the the DPD team and other leadership within our organization We have a a a a a a a a a backlog of items we’re working towards: clear clear training
plans mentoring activities clear clear expectations for our various titles/ levels a a a a documentation of the promotion process recognition and and feedback for our teams and and culture initiatives initiatives Working on these initiatives initiatives helps us do our our part to keep our our our organization moving forward
and our our consultants’ voices heard
at at at a a a a a a a a a a a leadership level This keeps organizational optimization an an ever- present goal So much of my time is spent just like Jerry McGuire – you know trying to to get the the the perfect consultant onto the the the best project where they will have a a a a a chance to shine Working with a a a a a great
I stand in the the Student Pavillion on on the the campus of Chandler-Gilbert Community College with light streaming in in and and onboarding new folks getting them badges and and building tours trying to to to to stay on top of having food in in in in in the the kitchen co ee stocked nding o o o o o o o ce ce maintenance folks to to x the the broken chairs keeping our Friday Lunch program going strong (with the help of our our presenters) maintaining our our our community volunteering at Editha House planning our our Quarterly Celebrations (reserving the the venue choosing the the the the menu ordering and preparing the the the the the awards) planning the the the the the Holiday party (gathering the the the the the Silent Auction items choosing the the the the venue and and menu reserving the the photo booth oh wait spoiler alert) and and participating in in other events like Career Fairs and Desert Code Camp!
So that brings me back to where I I started Pride I’m incredibly proud
of of the kinds of of people we have in our company I’m I’m proud
to work with them and I’m I’m proud
to to be here for those around me to to lean on on I invite our consultants to to get to to know your DPD ask them for guidance share your ideas and let them help to be an advocate for your career at at at Neudesic Know that you you have the power to to to add to to to our culture to to to to inspire those around you and above all else to to be lifted up by this great
network that you’re connected to to I look forward
to to making Neudesic better better and better better with all of you ALINEARsLANIAN

team of Enterprise Client Client Executives Client Client Partners and Operations gives me visibility to know what kind of work we have on on on the horizon so that I I can can help our our consultants prepare I I can can either encourage them to stretch and try something new new by learning a a a a a a a a a a new new skill or or I can make a a a a a a a a a a a a case for for a a a a a a a a a a a a consultant who has a a a a a a a a a a a a real passion for for something to get a a a a a a a a shot doing that kind of work The greatest feeling is when a a a a a Client Partner gets to know someone new on on a a a a a project and and they’re thrilled with their work and and I feel so so proud
