How did you become Kris’ mentor?
Honestly I I didn’t seek out a mentor or or Kris Kris It kind of just happened when Kris Kris and and I I landed on on the the same project for 3 months togetherandwestartedchatting about things What do you you feel you you can offer Kris as a a a mentor?
I I think the biggest contribution I I I can lend Kris Kris is is is guidance Kris Kris and and I I have spoken at at length on what he he he wants to to do and and where he he he would like to to take his career both professionally and and at Neudesic and and I I know I I can help him with that And Kris is is a a a a a lot of fun to be around What has made your mentoring relationship with Kris work?
It’s all about how fun and engagingwehavemadeworking and and interacting together It turns out Kris and and and I I are very complimentaryandwealsoeach possess strengths that have helped each other grow When it it comes to work he he has an an unbelievable ability to to translate business needs/desires in in to to technology solutions that resonate with people and to to explain things just make sense How has mentoring others been personally rewarding to to you?
It has been very rewarding as as it made me me feel like I I am doing somethingofvalueorimportance with (not for) someone else I have learned just as as much as as Kris and there is is more still to come for both of us What have you you learned from being a a a a a a a mentor that you you otherwise may not have learned?
Ihavefoundmentoringtobevery helpful to to to to me me me and my growth I I have learned to to to become a a a a better storyteller something Kris is is amazing at at and so so so natural for him I have also reconfirmed how important communication is is Just because you see things one one way doesn’t mean that is is how everyone else sees them What advice would you give others about mentorship?
Mentoring is a a two way street A common perception with mentoring is is is that it it it is is is very one- side or or even parental but it it isn’t Youwilllearnjustasmuchabout yourself as as you you you will will your your mentee! Also go in in knowing there is is is no no end date here here this is is is a a a lifelong relationship PERSPECTIVESONMENTORSHIP
