• The bar size should determine the tie spacing when tying bars in slabs. • Preassembled mats must be tied at enough bar intersections to make them rigid. If using single ties, be sure every outside intersection is secured as well as alternate interior joints.
• The ends of finished ties must always be kept clear of the concrete surface.
