A mixture of vinegar and water, lemon juice or undiluted vinegar is just as effective as bleach, and won’t damage clothes or harm the environment.
White vinegar brightens whites and colors, removes sweat stains and dirt, and softens and freshens laundry. Hydrogen peroxide can be used to remove stubborn stains, but it is important to read clothing labels before using any bleaching or whitening agent.
FabricSoftener •3⁄4 cup (180 ml) vinegar with 10 to 12 drops lavender essential oil . Add mixture to rinse cycle.
