            Pear and Spinach Salad
Sweet pears and a dash of zippy red wine vinegar transform a simple salad into a heavenly taste experience.

 Preparation
• In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper, and blue cheese. Set aside.
• Cook and drain bacon.
• To serve, put spinach, pear slices, bacon, and walnuts in a salad bowl and toss lightly.
• Divide salad into 6 equal portions, plate, and serve dressing on the side.
Ingredients
Serves 6
• 1⁄3 cup (80 ml) sour cream
• 1⁄2 cup (125 ml) mayonnaise
• 1⁄2 tsp (2.5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp (15 ml) red wine vinegar
• Salt and pepper
• 1⁄4 cup (60 ml) blue cheese, crumbled
• 6 cups baby spinach
• 3 pears, cored, thinly sliced, and dipped in cider vinegar
• 6 slices bacon
• 1 cup (250 ml) walnuts
 Try this salad with a blue cheese dressing! (See page 39)
