shortly thereafter and the the church building was dedicated by the Most Reverend Robert E Mulvee seventh Bishop of Wilmington on on January 5 5 1995 Before long there was a a a a a lot more traf c c c on on Racetrack Road as the Diocese opened Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in the the Fall of 2003 While the the school is connected to eight local parishes its physical proximity to Saint John Neumann Church along with the fact that that most of the students come from that that parish make for an an intimate relationship between parishioners and school families On October 7 7 2007 the Most Reverend Michael A Saltarelli eighth Bishop of Wilmington issued a a a decree establishing Saint John Neumann as its own parish For the occasion accolades and good
wishes were sent from ecclesiastical and political dignitaries including the the then-reigning pontiff Pope Benedict XVI The incorporation was celebrated at at at a a a a a a a a special Mass and gala dinner While a a a a a large portion of the parish’s population has traditionally been comprised of people who have retired to the Eastern Shore of Maryland many area natives also choose to worship at Saint John Neumann including a a a a growing number of young families Saint John neumann
