In the Beginning: Uhuru Tribe
To get to where we are now, a journey of discovery saw us evolve into the best form of ourselves, much to the benefit of our members. In the beginning of this journey, Uhuru Tribe was formed, as a ‘stokvel,’ that would help create wealth for its members. This was coupled with an opportunity for members to create their own business from home, for a very small initial amount.
“Uhuru”, which means freedom in kiSwahili, was envisioned by its founders, who each had their own

struggles and challenges. The initial owners battled the overly regulated and centralised traditional financial institutions, in a bid to obtain financial support; be it for business or personal loans, or start-up capital, etc.
They took it upon themselves to create a platform for true wealth creation and financial freedom, away from all the “Red Tape” and bureaucracy of the excessively centralised, over regulated and controlled financial institutions, through Digital Wealth Creation with Crypto Currency.
Our New Positioning and Rebranding: The Birth of CBI
While Uhuru Tribe was initially conceived and setup to operate as a stokvel, growth and an increase in demand, globally, for this service, led to the broadening of the vision and scope of the entire enterprise. This in-turn necessitated the renaming and complete rebranding from Uhuru Tribe to Crypto Based Innovation (CBI) - a more distinct name and image, that is in line with our renewed ‘future focused’ approach to investment and wealth creation.
