Dear forever family,
In the next few weeks we will travel through the Lent period in the lead up to Easter. Like Advent, it is a time for reflection. Reflection is a wonderful tool, no matter what age we are, or what's going on in our lives.
A mirror reflects what is there, but it doesn't tell us what we feel like on the inside. We may look fine on the outside but inside we may be full of anxiety, or pain, or hidden hope. Whereas the kind of reflection we do during Lent is often an inward kind. We may consider what we can go without, or what we need to do, or what calling we need to follow.
We also consider the journey that Jesus took in the run up to His crucifixion and resurrection. We reflect on His temptations and find that He is not outwitted or tricked. We imagine the moments of human anguish as He wept over Lazarus, and give thanks for the

humanity of Jesus. We wonder at the wisdom that Jesus shared, the focus He had on what needed to be said, as He got ready for what was coming next.
