 ARCHERY / SAETHYDDIAETH
CONWY DISABLED ARCHERY CLUB
Last September three club members, supported by a team of volunteers, achieved great results in the UK Disability Archery Championships.
Bethan Guiver (pictured right) won her category in her first outdoor Visually Impaired World Archery 1440 competition. Peter took part for his first outdoor competition and scored a PB increase over his club score of 36 points. Ian was again beaten by the Junior Team GB Compound archer who is very good.
The club has seen an influx of new members, and is often at full capacity, sometimes more! They continue to run sessions for Parkinson’s North Wales, Conwy Connect and other local groups.
This year Conwy Archers have become a Community Amateur Sports Club, and can now claim tax on donations received. If you would like to support the club, they are in the Lotto Lwcus run by CVSC.
Working closely with Disability Sport Wales the club has just received a Bronze Award Certificate (pictured below). They are very proud to be one of the most Inclusive archery clubs, in fact the only archery club to hold a Bronze Award, Silver is next !
All committee members, coaches and volunteers have taken their Level 1 UK DIT and two volunteers have progressed to Level 2 and attended Inclusive Marketing seminars run by Disability Sport Wales.
This year is starting to look busy again! The club will be running an archery range at Sioe Bryn y Maen on Saturday 24th May, Deganwy Prom Day on Saturday 31st May and Rowen Carnival on Saturday 12th July So why not come along to one of these events and
have a go at archery for just £1.
