Rotate the engine so that bank 2 is pointed at the ground; This will allow the rod end to pendulum easily and line up with the piston. Once everything is lined up, slide the wrist pin into the piston via a small access hole in the front of the engine. You will have to rotate the crankshaft to get the rod end to line up with the hole.
Here you can see the rod sliding through the hole and through the bottom of the cylinders and into the #6 piston. Once the wrist pin is seated firmly, remove the tool. My hands are small enough that I can slide into the # 5 cylinder from the top and with my finger through the hole into the #6 cylinder to verify the wrist pin is seated fully.
THE IDEA IS THAT WE NEED TO LINE UP THE PISTON AND ROD END...
