Police escort through downtown St. Joe
in St. Joseph on time. Waiting for us were a number of members of the St. Joseph Police Department. The officers provided us with nonstop driving through St. Joseph.
The biggest highlight of the escorted drive is the 26-mile-long parkway that snakes from south St. Joseph to north St. Joseph. This parkway was developed beginning in 1916. It begins at Hyde Park in south St. Joseph and terminates at Krug Park in north St. Joseph. Along the route there are other parks and a city golf course. Lots of great green space for citizens and visitors alike to enjoy.
This year we ended the fun run at Krug Park and gathered for pictures at a nearby church parking lot. The police officers had a chance to collectively join us. This was a first and was well received by those attending. People attending continuously thanked the officers for a great drive and everyone was so impressed with their organized controls of traffic.
Jim Rand asked that the officers assemble for pictures with the Porsches. Jim then asked club members to gather in a semicircle. When everyone was in position, he instructed our members to spread their legs and place their hands behind their heads. He then asked everyone to hold their hand straight up. Pictures were many and I am sure people were tickled at the opportunity.
