  lane change” followed by a short slalom right before the final turn. This gave the spectators plenty to “ooh”, “ahh” and “yikes” about, and the course safety workers got a lot of exercise setting the cones back up.
Although some cars and drivers were faster than others, autocross is about improving your own driving skills. Instructors were on hand to ride along with new drivers to give them pointers. Family members shared time behind the wheel of the same
 car. The times got quicker as the day went on. And everybody
had a great time! Smiles were everywhere. Autocross is a great way for both skilled drivers and novices to test the limits of their cars and their driving skills. If you’ve never tried driving at an autocross, you should check the KCRPCA event calendar and come out to our next one. You’ll be a better driver and probably make several new friends in the process. It’s not just the cars – it’s the people!
