 ATLANTA ADVENTURE FIVE DAYS WITH FAMILY WORLD OF COCA-COLA, GEORGIA AQUARIUM, AND PORSCHE FEATURE CONTRIBUTOR JIM RAND Like myself and millions of others, you have probably flown into, and then walked or made a heart bursting dash through the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta airport terminal many more times than you have toes and fingers. When you fly from Kansas City and venture just a foot beyond the Mississippi River, odds are you are going to have to land in Atlanta before receiving your Go Pass Go card. But this August, even among all of the COVID brouhaha, my fourteen- year-old grandson and my daughter and I threw caution to the wind and flew to Atlanta, and stayed ... for five days. My grandson’s summer had consisted of hibernating in his room, chatting with internet buddies or playing games on his phone. In an effort to boost his morale, quell his anxiety over COVID and prepare him for school’s start in a week, we took flight. Armed to the gills with masks and hand sanitizers, we marched off the plane, feeling a bit like explorers in an uncharted land. To my surprise, my grandson Bentley, my daughter Carrie, and I had a stress-free time.
