I’m getting ahead of myself. Before painting you need to prep the area and then sand. And then sand. And then sand. Did I say sand? Actually, you might get away with a little less sanding if you are keeping the same color. Since I was doing a color change, I needed to make sure the surface are was very smooth and ready to accept the new color.

This is where the Shade Tree Garage “team” began to help. Fred Quintana was quick to lend a hand with some of the sanding as were other club members who had come to watch. The team approach is always good when working on a project of this size, time and effort.
After sanding came priming. I felt like I was making progress
